The Brown Derby Cocktail pays homage to the Hollywood Brown Derby

When it comes to barbecue, bourbon, beer and other favorite cocktails are part of the overall experience.

The Brown Derby is a classic bourbon based cocktail with three basic ingredients. In this version I went with a little Woodford Reserve Boubon as the base.

Brown Derby Cocktail Ingredients

• 2 oz bourbon

• 1 oz fresh squeezed grapefruit juice

• 1 oz honey syrup (warm three parts honey to one part water, mix well)

Shake ingredients in a shaker with ice and then strain into glass. Garnish with a fresh grapefruit rind.

The Brown Derby.

Serve your Brown Derby in a coupe, martini glass or however you like. A nice smooth bourbon-based sipper.
